Rasee

We are intelligent and civilized human beings yet we become utterly barbaric if we think we're no longer the BEST or if we feel that someone is threatening to contradict everything we've believed in all of our lives.

I read somewhere that all human emotions come from two very basic ones - love and fear. Hate and anger stem from fear. Fear of losing control of ones life or losing one's hold on one's beliefs. Fear of being deserted, stranded, lost WITHOUT religion. FEAR.

And look what's on the opposite side. LOVE. Love can erase national boundaries and cross mountains. Love is what brought down the Berlin wall. Love is I feel when I hear the Thai national anthem. Love is what I feel when I speak to my grandparents in Hindi. Love is what I feel when I look at the moon and whisper my thanks to my Goddess. Love is what I feel when I join my friends and teachers in singing a gospel hymn. Love is embracing all the different parts of my heritage, my family and me, and feeling immense pride in the person that I am, yet knowing that the world is filled with beautiful people.

I am different and there are times when I will find no one like me, but because I know how to LOVE, I will always be able to view people and their beliefs with an open mind and heart, and not lose out on the chance of learning something new and being part of something wonderful. We're all citizens of the very same planet and THAT alone should be enough to hold us together.

There's something that we Wiccans say a lot. "With perfect love and perfect trust."

Exactly.

And no, I don't ride brooms. I use them to sweep floors like normal people do. And no, I don't sacrifice little children. I teach them English. Oh, and one last thing...no, my parents don't mind. I'm a better person because of my religion and much much happier today than I have ever been. So I buy a lot of candles. When there's a blackout, I'm the first person they run to.

Brightest, sweetest blessings to you all.
