I don't have regrets. How can I? I've been blessed with all these angels who have touched my heart and my life in the most special way. It hurts to lose them, and it will for the rest of my life. The world keeps on turning - friends don't stay together forever.

One of my best friends, a guy I have known for close to seven years, left for California a month after Paola. We have gotten closer through the constant emails we send because now we're not too busy trying to scratch each other's eyes out! :) I miss him every day, but I know that it's not as if I've lost the friendship. Our relationship is amazing, even with the 5,000 miles between us.

I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

--"I Will Remember you" by Sarah McLachlan

In other news, my prom was last night and I did not go, though I had a date, a dress and everything. I opted to go to a pub nearby for a concert by American saxophonist Dave Koz. I stayed out until nearly one in the morning, but it was worth it. He is absolutely amazing and he lit up the stage with his performance. I have never seen or heard anything like that before in my life and I'm so glad I chose it over the prom.

I also bought myself a lottery ticket a couple of days ago - my first and my last. With tuition fees for three people coming up around the corner, it's time for a miracle. Keep your fingers crossed for me. :)

Valentine's day was actually a very quiet affair for me because I was in the middle of a fight with one of my closest friends (I seem to have a lot of those, don't I?). We finally decided to reconcile our differences and he came over to my house that night with the sweetest little teddy bear and we sat out on the balcony, talking about our respective screw-ups.

The senate elections are on the fourth of March and I will be going to the ballots for the first time as a legal adult citizen of Thailand. I am psyched. I got a letter confirming my eligibility and a booklet on all the candidates. I've never felt so important.

That's the news from my side of the world.
